With Thanksgiving right around the corner, there is a lot I am thankful for. For one, I’m beyond thankful that our new home will be done in 9 days and to keep checking things off our to-do list. I’m also thankful for great, professional, trustworthy vendors. Our carpenter Bill at Trim Time, Inc. continues to wow us with his sketches. We asked him to give us an estimate and provide some drawings for a breakfast nook and he surpassed our wishes thus far!
We showed him this picture as an idea of the look we’re hoping to achieve with a built in bench beneath the windows.
Based on the images we gave him, he came back with this sketch.
Here is what the breakfast nook will ultimately look like–minus the wainscoting.
You didn’t think I would use just any fabric, did you? Pssh we stocked up on designer fabric at the Raleigh Flea Market this past Saturday and are were instantly drawn to this Barclay Butera for Kravet fabric and were even more impressed with the $5/yard price!
If you are in the Raleigh area, I highly recommend paying a visit to my fabric man, Cortland on Saturdays at the Flea Market — you will not be disappointed! Once the measurements and design is confirmed for the benches, I’ll be hiring Etsy shop Hearth and Home to make cushions. I think the printed blue cushions will add a great pop of color to our white kitchen (here) and will complement the dining room nicely too (if you’ve forgotten what it looks like, here you go!).
Tomorrow is a very exciting day for us — we have our new home inspection and home orientation! Wish us luck and I’ll update you on the house tomorrow!
Cheers, Karla xoxox
